Micro Inch to Thousandths Conversion
Question
Dear Tech,
Can you please help to convert micro inches to thousandths?
For example:
Plating thickness should be .0002 - .0006
Here are the results we got;
56.37
55.62
54.89
This is micro inches.
How do we know that these results are the same or within limits?
Can you send me a conversion chart?
Thank you,
Isabel

Isabel,
1 micro inch = .000001 inches (1 millionth of an inch)
.0002 (inches) / .000001 = 200 Micro Inch
.0006 / .000001 = 600 Micro Inch
In your case;
56.37 Microinches x .000001 = .00005637 Inches
55.62 Microinches x .000001 = .00005562 Inches
54.89 Microinches x .000001 = .00005489 Inches
1min = .000001Inches = 1 Microinch
1mm = .001mm = 1 Micron
Thanks,
Mike Oddy
